A national championship, hosted here
RISE hosted the 2025 Low Point Nationals at Georgia Farrow Recreation Center. In 2026 the United States Wheelchair Rugby Association's Low Point title comes back to the same court — with RISE's own Irving Outlaws in the division.
Low Point is the USWRA division for athletes with the most significant impairments allowed in wheelchair rugby. The 2026 summer season builds through tournaments across the country and ends here: a five-team tournament on Friday and Saturday, then Sunday's placement games and the championship final.
RISE's other national tournament this fall: the 2026 USAWFL Dallas Tournament, Nov. 1–2
Come watch
Admission is free all three days. RSVP for each day so we can seat everyone. Sign in or create a free RISE account, then reserve.
Wheelchair rugby 101
You do not need to know the rulebook to enjoy this. Here is enough to follow the game — and to understand why the gym gets loud.
Wheelchair rugby is a mixed-gender, full-contact sport played on a basketball court. Chair-on-chair contact is legal — and loud.
Each team fields four players. Every athlete has a classification value, and the values on court are capped, so lineups are a strategy of their own.
The Low Point division is for athletes with the most significant impairments in wheelchair rugby — classification values around 0.5 to 1.5.
A goal counts when two wheels of the chair cross the goal line with the player in possession of the ball.
Players can pass the ball in any direction or carry it on their lap while they push up the court.
The Low Point season runs the summer and ends at the National Championships — the title is decided on this court.

“Smashing Stereotypes - One Hit at a Time”
In memory

Robbie Dudzisz and Kyle McKittrick came to wheelchair rugby through different communities. Both became fierce competitors, trusted teammates, and welcoming mentors.
Robbie joined the Northeast Passage Wildcats in 2012 and grew into a starting low pointer, mentor, and team leader. He helped the Wildcats win Division II national championships in 2022 and 2024. Robbie was also a familiar presence with the Magee-MedStar Low Point team and at tournaments throughout the Northeast. Teammates remember his kindness, humor, competitive drive, and care for every new player.
Kyle found purpose and community through adaptive recreation, peer mentorship, and wheelchair rugby. He built lasting friendships with the Vegas Highrollers and the Northridge Knights. Teammates knew him as a respected competitor and leader. His family and friends remember his compassion, humor, resilience, and gift for making people feel seen.
Robbie and Kyle made the sport stronger by making its community more welcoming. We remember the joy, leadership, and belonging they gave to wheelchair rugby.
