Accessible camping

Stay by the lake.

Make it a staycation at one of RISE's five primitive campsites. Meadowmere Park gives you 288 acres of lake, sandy beaches, and open green space to explore. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. Complete an RSVP before you arrive.

Plan your stay

  1. Choose a date.Open the camping page in RSVP and review the available stays.
  2. Complete your RSVP.Add the people who will stay and finish the steps shown for that date.
  3. Read your confirmation.Check the campsite, meeting point, access details, and stay-specific instructions before you travel.

Choose a site

Know the route to your campsite.

You can request a site when you RSVP. RISE confirms the final assignment. Each site has a table, grill, fire ring, concrete pad, and level grass for tents.

Reservation and arrival

  • A participant with a disability must stay for the full reservation.
  • Camping is for overnight stays. Day use is not a campsite reservation.
  • The person who makes the RSVP is responsible for the group, must give RISE the required guest information, and must make sure that the group follows the park rules.
  • You can request a campsite, but RISE cannot guarantee the request. RISE can change a site assignment when necessary.
  • Guests younger than 21 must stay with a parent, legal guardian, or approved adult group sponsor.
  • Arrive before the park gate closes, 30 minutes before sunset. If you expect to arrive later, contact RISE for a gate code. Without a gate code, you must wait until the next day to enter.
  • Use the Gatehouse and the camping pass for re-entry.
  • Cancel through the link in your confirmation or contact RISE. A missed stay without notice can affect future campsite access.

People and campsite setup

  • Each site can have up to 8 overnight guests and 10 people total, including visitors.
  • Visitors who are not registered to stay overnight must leave before the park closes.
  • Each site can have up to 2 tents or canopies. Move tents on grass every 72 hours.
  • A stay can be up to 5 nights. Wait 14 days before you make another campsite reservation.
  • All RISE campers must wear the wristband that RISE provides.

Vehicles and parking

  • Drive safely and follow posted speed limits.
  • Each site can have up to 2 vehicles, including trailers.
  • Do not drive or park on the grass.
  • Park off the road near the white rocks. Display the camping pass at all times while you are in the park.

Pets

  • Each site can have up to 2 pets.
  • Keep pets on a leash, clean up waste, and do not leave pets unattended.
  • Pet pens can be no larger than 10 by 10 feet.
  • Pets are not allowed at the playground, dock, or swimming beaches.

Fires, cooking, and alcohol

  • Use only the campsite fire ring. Extinguish every fire completely.
  • Bring firewood or charcoal. Do not collect wood in the park.
  • Follow all current burn bans and park notices.
  • Alcohol is allowed only at the campsite. Do not bring glass containers.
  • Alcohol is not allowed at the water sports area, boat ramp, playground, or on park roads.

Beach and dock

  • The RISE beach and dock are for RISE guests. Swim at your own risk.
  • Fishing is not allowed at the RISE beach or dock from May 15 through September 15.
  • Keep boats outside the buoyed swimming area. Do not pull boats onto the beach. Personal boats cannot tie to the RISE dock.
  • Do not enter RISE boats or use RISE equipment without permission.
  • No pets, glass, or fires are allowed on the beach.

Children, cleanup, and damage

  • Drive carefully and watch for children at play.
  • Supervise children at the dock, swimming beaches, and playgrounds. An adult age 18 or older must stay with children younger than 12 in tents, buildings, and campsites.
  • Leave the site clean. Remove all equipment and litter. Sort waste and use another park dumpster if the nearest one is full.
  • Do not use the RISE Beach or Pavilion bins for campsite waste.
  • Report maintenance problems or damage to RISE or the Gatehouse. The person who made the RSVP can be responsible for repair or replacement costs.
  • Report lost items to the Gatehouse. The park holds found items for 30 days.
  • RISE and Meadowmere Park are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Not allowed

  • No portable or inflatable pools.
  • No fireworks, flares, firearms, bows, arrows, or paintball guns.
  • No golf carts, all-terrain vehicles, or dirt bikes.
  • The resident staff area is restricted. Stay at least 50 feet from the staff RV sites.
  • Day-use areas close at sunset. Do not set up tents or drive or park on the grass in the day-use area.
